Raymond A. Kang, CEO/Managing Partner

Raymond is the founder of Prodigy Capital Management, LLC, an asset management firm composed of two Prodigy Partners Funds which invest in well established and emerging global managers in major hedge fund strategies. Through his vast global network in the alternative investment industry, he established a strong relationship with institutional investors, sovereign funds, government officials, and top-tier global hedge fund managers, especially in Asia. 

Prior to his position as portfolio manager, Raymond was a founder of Prodigy Venture, LLC, a cross-border venture capital firm that invested in late stage and pre-IPO companies, ultimately leading to successful exit via M&A, buyouts and IPOs. Prior to Prodigy Venture, he was founder of eTonerExpress.com Inc., B2B eCommerce Marketplace company for remanufactured laser toner cartridges. In June 1998, he co-founded Deli-Togo.com, B2C eCommerce based deli food service co. which he developed and implemented the business model and launched in New York. He sold his ownership interest to the Company in Dec. 1999.

Prior to getting involved with internet ventures, Raymond enjoyed a distinguished career as a marketing director
for several prominent international marketing and advertising agencies for over 15 years. He has worked for
such agencies as Ogilvy & Mather, Foote Cone Belding, Thomas G. Ferguson (division of WPP group), and
BBD&O among many others. He has worked on such accounts as American Express, Duracell, IBM, R.J. Reynolds, Procter & Gamble and many more. Since opening his own Notorious Advertising Inc. in 1993, he has successfully serviced recognizable national accounts such as The United States Postal Service, Apple Computer, AVON, Amore Pacific Cosmetics, Daewoo Group, KIA Intertrade, AT&T, Parke Davis, and LG Industrial Systems.

Raymond is a co-director of the Korea-Chapter at the Hedge Fund Association (HFA), one of the founding
member and a chairman of INKE (Int'l Network of Korean Entrepreneurs) NY Chapter, and one of the founding member of KASE-NY Chapter (Korean American Society of Entrepreneurs). He is also a member of National Venture Capital Association (NVCA), New York Venture Group. He is a strategic partners of VC Experts, PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC) VC Network, TriState Ventures, New York Biotechnology Association (NYBA), Biotech Council of New Jersey, New York Technology Council (NYTECH), New York City EDC (Economic Development Corporation), New Jersey Commerce, and New Jersey EDA (Economic Development Authority).
He holds a BA and master's degree in Marketing Communication at the University of Maryland and a BFA at SUNY (State University of New York).

Darius Seo, Portfolio Advisor (U.S.)
Darius is a financial expert in strategic planning, financial controls, and deal structuring with execution; founded dasAdvisory, LLC to provide transactions and advisory services to US and overseas middle-market companies.  Clients include U.S. and overseas companies in alternative energy, financial services, healthcare, IT, logistics/ trucking, manufacturing, retail.  Prior to dasAdvisory Darius was with DND & Co. as vice president of investment banking, Delloite Tomatsu, Citigroup in US Card Products.

In 1984 Darius earned his MBA from New York University in Finance & International Business with a minor in Computer Applications.  Other: Featured in Investment Dealer’s Digest 2001 “Who’s Who in Mergers & Acquisitions” and 1999 “Who’s Who in Retail Finance/Consumer Goods.”  Speak Japanese and lived in Asia. Researched and toured 20 companies located in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, and Thailand.  Avid angler and cyclist.


Glenn Toth, Advisor (U.S.)
Glenn is managing director of Place Capital Advisors, an advisor to both family offices and general partnerships.   He has been an investor and syndicator in venture capital, private equity, real estate, liquid alternative strategies; and fund raising. On the direct investing side, Glenn has funded companies in the technology sector (both hardware and software), life science (medical devices and therapeutics), as well as, clean technology and alternative energy. Glenn was the president of a NASD broker dealer, PFI International Inc., which provided trade execution services to institutional investors, in both equities and derivatives.   

He also traded as a principle in stocks, bonds, commodity futures and option both on the floor of the NYSE, and its affiliated exchanges.  He also ran a trading operation at institutional trading house Liberty Financial Group. He spent four years in Taiwan, the Republic of China, and Hong Kong, teaching finance and capital markets to corporate executives and financial service professionals. He is conversant in Mandarin Chinese and Spanish, and has degrees in both Accounting and Economics.


Ernst J. Lee, Managing Partner (U.S./China)
Ernst Lee was a spokesperson for the Director General of Korea’s Financial Services Commission (FSC), the top regulatory body of Korea’s financial markets. He is a seasoned financial professional with 25 years of experience in global investment, private equity, corporate financing and banking. He worked as a Korean Director of Anbang International Holdings, the third largest Chinese Insurance Group, until Nov, 2015. He successfully completed an acquisition of Tongyang Life Insurance, valued at USD1 bn.

Prior, Ernst was a Head of Strategic Investment/Public Affairs at Saudi Aramco Korea, a full subsidiary of the world’s largest oil company, where he was responsible for strategic investment and government relationship management. He completed an investment of USD1.9 bn in S-Oil from Aramco HQ. He also led an investment of USD5 bn in S-Oil’s Onsan Plant expansion, totaling USD $6.8 bn (the largest FDI in Korea).

Ernst acquired public sector experience as well when he served in the Korean government. As a spokesperson at the FSC, he was exposed to important global experiences, at the acme of the global financial crisis in 2009. In particular, he played a key role in promoting and safeguarding global investments in Korea. He was a Korean Attaché for the Financial Stability Board (FSB) under G20. He closely worked with other governments by negotiating terms and conditions for global financial rules, representing the Korean government. He also played a leading role as a member of the National IR team of The Blue House, the Presidential House.

Prior to the FSC, Ernst was a Director at Macquarie Securities Korea, responsible for corporate financing and investing in renewable and alternative energy, water, and government infrastructure projects. He also played a key role as an advisor for major M&A deals in Korea. Ernst founded and served as a chairperson for ten years at the Private Equity and Venture Capital Committee of the America Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), where he made a vital contribution in representing  global investors’ interests, working closely with the Korean government. Ernst also served as a Special Financial Advisor for the President Candidate, Park Geun-Hae during the election campaign.

Currently, he serves in the Risk Board of Korea Student Aid Foundation, a government body providing student loans (AUMUSD17 bn) and in the Investment Decision Committee of Korea Teachers’ Credit Union (USD28 bn), a major pension fund. Ernst holds an M.A. from Yonsei University, a top university in Korea, and a joint MBA degree from NYU Stern School, London School of Economics, and HEC in Paris. He speaks excellent English, French and Korean with elementary Mandarin.

Eric Koch, General Partner (U.S.)

Eric brings 30 years of experience underwriting, managing, turning around, and trading commercial loans to    
middle and lower-middle market companies. Prior to joining the Fund, Eric was with BayernLB – New York from
2004 managing a team of four to review applications for REIT revolving lines of credit, first mortgage loans,
mezzanine, and B note transactions. In addition to underwriting $1.5 billion in new commercial real estate assets
with a loss experience of less than 0.3%, due to the recent credit crisis, Eric’s primary function shifted to the
workout mode developing and implementing strategies to maximize returns on bad loans and structuring
programs to prevent good loans from going bad. Eric’s team successfully restructured two loans and
engineered the repayment of a mezzanine loan and managed the sale of $101 million (par value) of loans
recording net recoveries of $38 million while positioning an additional four loans for potential sale.

In 1989 Eric founded E.C. Koch & Company, Inc. to advise middle market and bulge bracket lenders with a client
base that included FSLC, the FDIC, the RTA, J.E. Robert Companies, ABN AMRO NV, Credit Suisse/First
Boston, Goldman Sachs, and Greenwich Capital Markets. Prior to founding E.C. Koch & Company Eric was with
Geovest Advisors, First Federal S&L Assoc. of Rochester, Security Trust Company, and Shearson American
Express underwriting, managing, and trading commercial loans. Eric was Ph.D. candidate in Philosophy;
University Fellow at the University of Rochester and earned A.B. in Philosophy; summa cum laude from
Muhlenberg College.

Jason (CheolHee) Lee, Managing Partner (Korea/Vietnam)
Jason is a global investment banker with experience in PEF/Venture Capital specialties in Korea, Vietnam, and the U.S. He is currently a managing partner at Prodigy Capital Management based in the New York area. Prior to working at Prodigy Capital, he was at Mirae Asset Financial Group for over 10 years, specialized in Vietnamese corporate investment banking. He successfully listed an IPO on Vietnam Industrial Construction Corp, which is the first IPO by a foreign state-owned company.

Jason was a fund manager at the Woori Technology Investment, one of the most active and high-tech oriented VC firms in Korea. Jason managed private equity funds and strategized Korea and other emerging Asian markets. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Yonsei and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST).

Simon (Seung Yeop) Oh, Managing Partner (Hong Kong/Taiwan)

Simon has more than 15 years of experience in investment sector; he worked as an investment officer in CDIB (China Development Industrial Bank), the most renowned IB in Taiwan during late 1990s~ mid 2000s.  He conducted various cross-border Private Equity and M&A deals including venture deals, successfully investing in Mirae Asset Securities (Mirae Asset).  CDIB became the second largest shareholder of Mirae Asset and divested more than USD180 million after the IPO of Mirae Asset. Simon later joined GE Corporate in Korea and participated in managing and strategic planning of GE business in Korea.  He reorganized the GE Korea business, the new business plan of the financial sector, and the reporting to GE headquarter.


At Hanwha Venture Capital as the head of the investment division, Simon invested in distinguished technology companies such as Nexcontech, Mirae Company, Kornic System, Sunic System, and especially focused
on ITC and Semiconductor sectors.  While he worked as a director in the planning team of Nexcontech, he restructed the whole company including M&A.  Simon also co-managed China Venture Capital Fund with Sinovo Venture Capital, established by former president of CDIB, actively investing in diverse Chinese ventures.


Additionally, Simon continually worked on developing Cross-Border M&A, Private Equity deals including Technology Transfer, JV Establishment, and the Strategic Alliance between China/Taiwan, Korea, and the
US.  Currently, he is in charge of M&A consultations with Korea Venture Association and the business

evaluation jury for Technology Investment Holdings of Korea University.  Simon received a Bachelor's degree from Korea University and a MBA from the University of NSW in Australia.
